    • "Portraying scientists, especially ones with the iconic value of an Einstein or a Curie, requires a balancing act of biography, culture, and, most importantly, science. In Humanity Needs Dreamers, Susan Marie Frontczak manages to merge all these elements so seamlessly that you get into the head of this remarkable Polish immigrant in France who loved and advanced science while getting a sense of what drove her and what she accomplished. I wasn't sure in advance I'd enjoy 45 minutes listening to a single character only to find myself mesmerized the entire time.

Humanity Needs Dreamers: A Visit With Marie Curie is everything a science film should be.”

STEM on Stage is a STEAM initiative to promote narrative science through theater, film & live events. We’re proud to present a digital theater version of Susan Marie Frontczak’s live performance in Humanity Needs Dreamers: A Visit With Marie Curie. This 45 minute cinematic rendition is based on her acclaimed living history portrayal of the two time Nobel Prize winning scientist Marie Skłodowska Curie.

Produced for live audiences and hosted by local scientists, HUMANITY NEEDS DREAMERS is a science history experiment designed to break the digital fourth wall between live theater and cinema, past and present, scholar and performer.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Marie Curie’s visit to the United States in 1921, we invite you to take part in our upcoming public humanities campaign by supporting the HUMANITY NEEDS DREAMERS digital speaking tour in your community.
